World class talent lines up for Live At The Village Festival
Springwood's Live at the Village, in partnership with Blue Mountains Theatre, is proud to present an all-day music festival this September, featuring some of Australia's most evocative and contemporary artists in concert, live and local.
It will be a day of genre-straddling performances from acclaimed and world-class Australian artists, with headline acts including jazz icon Sandy Evans, ARIA-nominated Zela Margossian Quintet, dual ARIA-winning world music fusionists the Mara! Big Band, Bluegrass darlings the Morrisons and family favourites Lah Lah's Big Live Band.
The festival event program features jazz, folk, world and Bluegrass music and dance performances presented in partnership with Blue Mountains Theatre.
Festival Artistic Director Gary Daley said the event was a landmark for the community, especially stalwarts of long-running local concert series, Live at the Village.
"This event is the realisation of a long-held ambition: bringing together a series of master musicians of diverse and compelling influences to our own Blue Mountains Theatre and cultural hub," Mr Daley said.
"For many years, local music lovers have attended the Live at the Village concert series, held initially in the Presbyterian Church Hall here in Springwood, and more recently in the new Blue Mountains Theatre.
"We now have this world-class theatre, fit for purpose, right in our backyard and we are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity to bring so many artists of an exceptional calibre to our local community."
Mr Daley said Lah Lah's Big Live Band would be a "sure hit for families" but the festival would also offer a diverse line up of artists.
"There is also a real curiosity and hunger in the community to experience something people might not have encountered before," he said.
"With the recent embargo on international travel, this is one way we can engage with cultures and visit new places - with our hearts and souls.
"Musicians know it's an even more intimate and shared journey when you travel this way, as a shared experience, through live music.
"This festival program is an opportunity to be part of some truly exceptional musical moments, right here in Springwood."
The Live at the Village Music Festival is presented in partnership with the Blue Mountains Theatre.
Earlybird ticket packages are on sale from June 17.
