Come and experience the thrill of telling a story, creating quirky characters and performing with friends as you create a completely original play from scratch – all in one day!

In this fast-paced, highly interactive workshop you’ll join a team of like-minded drama lovers and learn skills in acting, storytelling and stagecraft as you create a brand-new play with guidance from an experienced theatre director. To top it all off, you’ll get to perform your masterpiece for your family and friends at the end of the day!

About Rowan Bate

Rowan is a theatre practitioner, director and educator specialising in youth-focused arts practice. He has worked extensively in youth arts creating and delivering creative programs that connect young people with theatre in inspiring ways. Rowan is an advocate for the transformative power of drama in education contexts. He has contributed to innovative programs that promote the use of creative pedagogies in classrooms, such as the ATYP (Australian Theatre for Young People) On Demand digital learning platform, and has spoken at theatre and education conferences locally and overseas about the benefits of embedding arts-focused learning across all areas of the curriculum.
