Blue Mountains Concert Society presents The Australian Brandenberg Orchestra
More info
This special charity concert brings together four outstanding ensembles in support of a powerful cause: Music 43 (founded in 1988) is a not-for-profit organisation that supports young musicians by lending high quality instruments from its ever-expanding collection. Swingwood Jazz Festival celebrates the transformative power of music while raising vital funds to place instruments directly into the hands of young musicians.
Headlining the concert is the dynamic Bird Yard Big Band, renowned for its high-energy performances and rich big band sound. Joining them is the acclaimed Swing West Jazz Orchestra, whose polished ensemble work and classic swing repertoire promise to delight audiences of all ages. Representing the next generation of talent, the Nepean CAPA Jazz Band showcases the dedication and skill of emerging young performers, demonstrating exactly why access to instruments and quality music education matters. Completing the line-up is the Blue Mountains Jazz Ensemble, bringing a distinctive regional flair and a passion for contemporary and traditional jazz styles.
Together, these four ensembles will present an exciting program spanning swing, Latin, contemporary jazz and big band classics. More than just a concert, this event is a celebration of opportunity, generosity and community connection. Every ticket purchased and donation made will help ensure that financial barriers do not stand in the way of a student’s musical journey. It’s an evening where great music creates real impact — one instrument, and one student, at a time.
