Pigs on the Wing features Pink Floyd’s tenth studio album, Animals, in celebration of its 50th anniversary. Inspired by George Orwell’s Animal Farm, the album reached #2 in the UK and #3 in the US, seeing Pink Floyd overtake ABBA no less for the most weeks on the UK Albums Chart. Driven by visceral and cutting social commentary with no room for pleasantries, Animals is a masterpiece in sonic experimentation. Featuring some of David Gilmour’s finest ever guitar work, and where synthesisers, guitars and vocals are transformed by a rotary speaker, vocoder or talk box, it foreshadows the theatrical menace of the band’s next outing: The Wall.
More than a distant echo of Pink Floyd, enjoy a concert experience where Run Like Hell summons the spirit of the original recordings and delivers the epic guitar solos and iconic rainbow of keyboard colours in exquisite detail, right down to Roger Water’s trademark pterodactyl scream.
