Swingwood Jazz Festival
More info
An electrifying evening of Ancestral Romani music, tango, swing jazz, and British pop.
Join us at the theatre for a virtuosic musical journey through Romani and Balkan traditions, weaving personal heartfelt Romani stories, fiery instrumentation, and immersive projections into an evening of raw energy, resilience, and cultural pride.
Performed by Lolo Lovina, a Sydney-based band who inspire audiences worldwide - from Cuba to Serbia, France to the Pacific Islands - to celebrate connection, culture, and community through their virtuosic, high-energy performances.
Led by vocalist Sarah Bedák and drummer/Musical Director Nenad Radić, they blend ancestral Romani music, tango, swing jazz, and British pop, creating a sound that’s as unpredictable as it is electrifying. Their live shows are tight, interactive, and explosive, tangibly sharing their love for each other, their ancestors, and their audience.
Featuring:
Sarah Bedák on vocals (Hungarian Romani)
Illija Ampevski on sax (Macedonian Romani)
Ivaylo Karamenliev on kaval (Bulgaria)
Jess Randall on violin
George Nikolopoulos on bass (Greece)
Dave Carr on guitar
Leonid Beshlei on keys (Ukraine)
